Your Photographic Journey

Hiring a wedding photographer can be a bit intimidating, but maybe we can ease ease some of the pain. Your wedding photographer is probably the only person you will trust to document your day, and the only vender you will continue to work with after the honeymoon. Let us describe your photographic journey.

Finding the photographer
Beginning the select of the photographer can be a daunting task. You'll want to meet several, but more than three will only get confusing. The best way to narrow the search to three is to view their online portfolio. It's a great way to see how they view the world. Once you've found your photographer you'll reserve your date with a retainer and then you'll sign the contract. Our policy requires that 1/2 of the photography fee be received with the signed contract.

Your first portrait together
This is the time for us to get to know one another. We will go to a Seattle location and create images of the two of you together. Our goal is to capture the one image which will show the world how you two relate to each other. From this image we will be able to create a beautiful signature board to be displayed at your reception where your guests will sign upon an extra large mat. This framed portrait will be a great keepsake from your wedding day.

The month before
Approximately four weeks before the wedding, we will meet with you to finalize details - either in person or over the phone. We will provide you with a detailed questionnaire to fill out that will give us all the information we need to photograph your wedding. We'll go over the questionnaire with you to clarify the exact times and locations, and make sure that we know who's who. This is also the time you'll pay the balance of the photography fee.

A few days before
This is our preparation time. If we are traveling from out of town to photograph your wedding, this is the day we will arrive. We will contact you with a phone call to let you know we've arrived and to make sure that nothing has changed since our last meeting. We will scout out the area of the ceremony and reception. If we are photographing your rehearsal, we'll see you there.

The wedding day
Here it is - the big day has arrived. We will begin by arriving at each location about a half an hour before you do, to catch any last minute ideas. We'll check in with you throughout the day to quickly organize a few groupings and posed portraits, but mostly we'll be unobtrusive and quiet doing the job that you hired us to do.

The Premier
This is very exciting because you will remember your day and with the anticipation of wonderful images to show you, but processing and organizing that much film takes time. It will take us approximately 3-4 weeks to compile all the images, and to create your digital presentation. We will provide you with all of the information you need to order prints and create the album of your dreams.

The albums & prints
We will be happy to help you choose prints for display and gifts or to help you design an album layout. Using a computer program, pre-design your album and print it out for you to view. In this way we can help you to pre-visualize the layout of your album rather than having you guess at what the album might look like.

Once you've placed your orders, you'll have to wait about three to four weeks for a custom print order to be complete, and anywhere from 2 1/2 to four months for a finished album. Why so long? Our albums are mostly hand made and the photographs that you select must be carefully printed. It's a time consuming and exacting process and we like to allow enough time for any situation that might come up. It's definitely worth the wait.

The end
You've completed your photographic journey. You can call us any time and have us print more photographs, create other albums, and take more pictures, but the hard part is through. Now all you do is relax and enjoy the beautiful albums and memories from your wedding.
